Showcasing finished custom instruments
A custom instrument, built for composer Marina Khorkova, which relies on electro-magnetic tone excitement for steel-stringed instruments. The Spectral Cluster SC-17 spans over a range of 17 string courses and is designed for key- and actionless piano frames, as well as grand pianos, that are straight-stringed.
This custom guitar pedal effect was developed during 2020. It features the warm distortion that only a 12AX7 tube can deliver. The two transformers provide the power for the tube filaments and the tube plates.
The wood chosen is Macassar ebony, laid in a 16-point radial burst pattern, which brings the attention of the viewer to the tube: where the magic happens.
